With the assistance of high-tension guide wires, steel rods and strategically placed guide forms, shotcrete is a method of applying concrete through a nozzle at a high velocity onto a surface. For Groton Hill, 6-8 inches of shotcrete was strategically spray-applied on the walls and ceilings, providing just enough mass for acoustic warmth while using far less material than conventional construction.
