Raw Walls

Ballari and Kabuto, two new Type II wallcoverings by Wolf-Gordon, feature an artisanal look inspired by raw materials and architectural elements. Ballari (pictured) features a distressed concrete-look with character, emulating an impasto painting by layering color with strokes of paint. Kabuto, in contrast, appears to have layers “scraped away” to reveal hints of metallic beneath, with colorways inspired by industrial metals, including pops of bold orange.

Artwork Under Foot

Subtle Impressions, a new carpet tile collection from Patcraft, was inspired by delicate flower pressings, offering vibrant texture and color. This, paired with a novel yarn technique, created the innovative production process that led to Subtle Impressions. Available in three 12-in. × 48-in. carpet-tile patterns.

Taking Flight

No other bird is more mystical than the Phoenix; thus the inspiration for Maurice Dery’s newest creation made in concert with Karice. Using the feathers of other birds as models, Dery choose brass as the material of the bird’s wings. And true to its name, its fantastical body is made of acrylic illuminated by a 3000K LED. Like a phoenix, the avian-inspired fixture was photographed on the site of a fire that devastated a forest in British Columbia. The “birds” are suspended from a coaxial cable and are 6-in. diameter and about 1.5-in. deep.
