Curved Curtainwall Decorates Chicago High-Rise

Inspired by aspen leaves, close to 12,000 sq. ft. of EFCO’s curved 5600 curtainwall creates an elegant 32-story high-rise for Chicago’s 465 North Park Apartments. Designed by Pappageorge Haymes Partners, the luxury apartment tower also incorporates EFCO’s 8750 unitized curtainwall for the above-ground parking garage; EFCO’s 450X windows and OG45 window wall, T450-I Terrastile doors on the tower balconies; and D300 storefront doors for entries.

To help meet the project’s thermal performance, durability and sustainability requirements, EFCO relied on a combination of Technoform’s polyamide thermal barrier and plastic hybrid stainless steel warm-edge TGI-Spacer M.

“Technoform’s durable, warm-edge spacers and thermal barrier strips allow our products to provide outstanding thermal performance without sacrificing structural integrity,” says Josh Wignall, EFCO’s director of marketing. “For example, our 450X windows use both Technoform’s thermal break and thermal spacer to offer industry-leading measured performance as high as 75 for condensation resistance factor and a U-Factor as low as 0.24.”
