This wood flooring was recently installed in the restaurant The Alchemist, designed by Interiors UK. The restaurant's identity is anchored by its flooring: Contes strips from the PurePlank collection. Chosen for their durability and rich, dark tones, the seamless planks set a sophisticated stage for the bar’s moody lighting, brushed brass accents, and deep, jewel-toned seating. The brunette color palette creates a warm, inviting atmosphere, while subtle variations in the wood grain add texture and a touch of rustic edge—keeping the sleek space from feeling too polished. The oiled finish reflects the ambient glow of pendant and backbar lighting, making the flooring an active part of the design’s drama. Here, the floor ties the whole space together.
