Driven by Data

The University of Rochester, in Rochester, N.Y., began accepting students to its new Goergen Institute of Data Science program in fall 2015, and two years later the school opened the doors to an ambitious new facility to house the effort.The building features a creative façade design by Kennedy & Violich Architects (KVA) that plays with the theme of a data-centric mission, offering a “coded” indicator of the work going on within its walls. Nod to Tradition

Face-brick cladding lends a traditional appearance to a high-performing building on the campus of Norwalk Community College. The façade of the $30 million Center for Science, Health and Wellness, designed by New York City’s Mitchell Giurgola Architects, pairs the brick with more modern materials to tie the building in with the rest of the 1960s-era campus.

Touchy Textures

With the addition of three new textures—Craftsman, Stone Rolled and Warble—specifiers of these masonry units now have a total of six texture options to choose from.
