BranchMatrix is an innovative, 3D-printed, open lattice material developed by Branch Technology. The material can take on virtually any shape or form and uses 20 times less material as compared to traditional solid-volume printing, while creating the same geometries. A test block printed with carbon fiber-reinforced ABS can support more than 3,000 lbs. of compressive force, boasting a strength-to-weight ratio of approximately 1500:1. The design team at Fuqua Architects selected the BranchMatrix material to develop a unique and playful façade for the Monroe Street parking garage in Huntsville, Alabama.
