I’m one of those people who can’t shop online—and rather than look a gift horse in the mouth when a sunny day in the 50s came to bear last week, I left work early to try my luck with holiday shopping. Fortunately, there’s one of a handful of ’60s era outdoor shopping malls not too far from where I live. Of course, when you’re out of shopping shape, one needs a place to rest and eat in order to continue, for me, what is kind of an arduous task. That said, because of COVID, there was no room at the inn, so to speak—at least where indoor dining was concerned. A couple of the higher-end restaurants there featured enclosed tents, which I passed, ultimately eating outside after grabbing kebobs from the food court. Perhaps the mall did not have the foresight of Prometheus, but I sure wish they had stolen some fire—at least in the form of those outdoor torch heaters. Following are some of the Readers’ Choice products from the current issue that might help in making chilly outdoor eating experiences more pleasant.
New & Noteworthy
A full blown-trend for the past few years, COVID has only increased the spotlight on the need for well-ventilated spaces, notably for eating and drinking establishments. Hand hygiene starts with proper washing. But why stop there? Dry hands are 1000X safer than wet hands. Touchless hand dryers dry hands completely in as little as 10-12 seconds. Leading science experts, like the CDC and WHO recommend their use. Some models feature HEPA-filtration capturing 99.97% of particles, cleaning air before reaching hands. At the same time, antimicrobial technology inhibits the growth of bacteria, mold and fungus that can cause stains, odors or deterioration. Promote cleaner environments with World Dryer's touchless hand dryers.
